  • Happy Birthday Mississippi
    Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017
    The opening concert will celebrate the state’s bicenntennial with important music, musicians and vocalists representing those who have made outstanding musical contributions to Mississippi, the United States and internationally.
    The program will include works by opera greats Leontyne Price from Laurel, who is now retired and living in New York City; the late Ruby Elzey born in Pontotoc and lived in Corinth; and Jane Redding Merrero from Biggersville and Corinth, now retired from the opera stage and living in Georgia. The concert program will also include music made popular by rock star, Elvis Presley, as well as Delta Blues, Country Music, Spiritual and Gospel music.
    The concert will open with varied versions “What A Wonderful World”, the song made popular by the late Louis Armstrong.

 

  • An English Dickens Christmas
    Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017

    The annual Christmas Concert will feature English Dickens Christmas and Favorites. The program will offer costumed carolers and typical British Christmas Carols. The favorites through the years and religious music will be on the program, too.
    The concert will open with varied versions “What A Wonderful World”, the song made popular by the late Louis Armstrong.

 

  • An Evening in Old Vienna
    Saturday, March 3, 2018 – 7 p.m.

    The grand finale Spring Concert will will take concert-goes to the famous city of music — Vienna, Austria. This classical concert will be filled with fun, dancing and wonderful music. In addition to the beautiful classics, the orchestra will feature pieces from “The Sound of Music” by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The movie portraying an Austrian family was filmed in the Alps near Austria.
    The concert will open with varied versions “What A Wonderful World”, the song made popular by the late Louis Armstrong.

Lead by Conductor Maurice Weatherall, the Corinth Symphony Orchestra is a quality of life organization in the Crossroads area with goals to enrich education, economic development and community enjoyment. Celebrating 26 years, the Corinth Symphony Orchestra is a umbrella organization of the non-profit Corinth Area Arts Council, Inc.
